Simon & Schuster will publish a book based on The Everyday Sexism Project, a website that asks women to share their everyday experiences of sexism.
Founder Laura Bates will write the book, to be published in 2014.
S&S non-fiction editorial assistant Abigail Bergstrom signed the pre-emptive deal for UK and Commonwealth rights with Elinor Cooper at Rochelle Steven & Co.
“The book will expose sexism as endemic—socially, professionally and publicly—using real-life experiences to analyse and evaluate the issue of gender inequality in today’s modern world,” S&S said.
