S&S Kids acquires YA superpower novel

Simon & Schuster Children’s Books has acquired Zeroes, the first in a new YA trilogy about teenagers with superpowers.

The Zeroes are six teenagers, all born in the year 2000, who live in Cambria, California. Their abilities make them anything but heroes – until a high stakes crisis changes everything.

The title is the first in a trilogy and was written by Scott Westefeld, author of Uglies and Afterworlds (also published by Simon & Schuster UK), Margo Lanagan and Deborah Biancotti

Elv Moody, editorial director of Simon & Schuster Children’s Books, acquired the commonwealth volume rights, excluding Australia, New Zealand and Canada but including e-book rights, from Jill Grinberg at Jill Grinberg Literary Management.

Zeroes will be published in the UK on the 24th September.
