S&S joins iBookstore

<p>Simon &amp; Schuster has become the latest publisher to make its e-books available on the UK Apple iBookstore.<br /><br />The publisher announced that its digital titles would be available from the UK iBookstore from today (31st August). Among the books available are titles from Philippa Gregory, Lynda La Plante, Tom Rob Smith and Jackie Collins. <br /><br />Managing director Ian Chapman said: &quot;We are thrilled to be part of the iBookstore, allowing us to bring our books to UK readers in a fresh and enticing way. We are always exploring the exciting opportunities provided by new technologies to make our books available to readers in the formats they choose.&quot; <br /><br /><em>The Red Queen </em>by Gregory is available for &pound;11.99, titles by Collins from &pound;6.49 and titles by La Plante and Rob Smith from &pound;5.46.<br /><br />Last week <a href="http://thebookseller.com/news/126874-canongate-puts-titles-on-the-ibooks... target="_blank">Canongate became the first publisher</a> after the launch of the iBookstore in the UK to make its books available on the Apple iPad. Hachette, HarperCollins, Penguin and Macmillan all&nbsp; their titles available at launch on 28th May. </p>
