Rachel Denwood, publisher at HarperCollins Children’s Books, is taking on the role of m.d. of Simon & Schuster’s children’s division. She replaces Alexandra Maramenides, who announced her resignation in October.

She is the perfect publisher to take the helm of this vital and growing area of our business.”
Denwood added: “After ten happy and successful years at HarperCollins it is hard to say goodbye, but the opportunity to lead and build the gem-filled Simon & Schuster UK Children’s list is simply irresistible. I look forward to working with S&S authors, illustrators and the talented in-house team to reach exciting new heights in our flourishing children’s book market.”
Denwood has spent 17 years in publishing has worked on authors and brands such as Paddington Bear, David Walliams and Holly Smale. She will start her new job in early summer 2019.
