Simon & Schuster has bought a memoir by multi-Premier League and Champions League-winning footballer Paul Scholes.
Kerr MacRae, S&S executive director, acquired world rights from Harry Swales, who is representing Scholes, and David Welch at David Welch Management. The book, Paul Scholes: My Story, will be published by Rhea Halford, S&S UK sports commissioning editor, in hardback this autumn.
The book will feature photos and stories from Scholes' time at Manchester United. He has played for the first team for 16 years, amassing nine Premier League titles and two Champions League wins among his trophies.
MacRae said: "It is a privilege to have Paul Scholes on the Simon & Schuster list. This is without question the sports book of 2011, from a player as popular and as revered as any in the game today."
Scholes said: "Writing my sole book will be a trip down memory lane. During my appearances with my one and only club, Manchester United, there have been many wonderful, exciting and memorable times. It will be a pleasure to share them with all the people who have been there for me throughout the years."
