Sphere has promoted "two outstanding editorial talents", Lucy Malagoni and Manpreet Grewal, with immediate effect.
Commissioning editor for Sphere, Lucy Malagoni, has been promoted to editorial director. She will continue to acquire general fiction, with a focus on Book Club fiction, for Sphere.
Malagoni, who has worked at Little, Brown throughout her career, was chosen as a Rising Star by The Bookseller in 2015. She has worked on the publications of Robert Galbraith, Val McDermid and CWA Gold Award winner Michael Robotham. She also published I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh in 2015 and will be publishing Mackintosh's next novel, I See You, later this year.
Malagoni said: "Sphere is a truly exciting place to be and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to step up within such a dynamic team as we continue to publish exceptional books."
Commssioning editor for Sphere, Manpreet Grewal, has meanwhile been promoted to senior commissioning editor, publishing commercial women's fiction and general fiction for the Sphere list. Grewal was recently awarded the the Love Stories Awards' title of Editor of the Year. She has signed authors including Vicky Pattison, a 2015 contestant on ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!', award-winning Sarra Manning, historical drama from Jenny Ashcroft, contemporary book club fiction from Virginia Macgregor and the debut novel from actress Carrie Hope Fletcher.
