Crime writer Mark Billingham and author Michael Carlson are to host a new podcast series for Sphere.
Meanwhile Penguin has launched a series to promote the release of Tim Weaver's recently-released novel What Remains (Michael Joseph).
The Crime Vault Live podcast, presented by Billingham and Carolson, has been created by Sphere, which also runs the crime community of the same name.
The podcasts will feature news, reviews of new releases, author interviews, analysis of crime fiction, film, and history’s lost classics, and readers’ questions.
The first episode of the monthly series, which will be available from Monday 7th September on The Crime Vault website, will feature guest Martyn Waites, who also writes as Tania Carver. In October the guest will be Val McDermid.
Each show will last 40 minutes and will heavily promote new releases across all UK publishers.
Michael Joseph's Missing podcast, launched this week on iTunes and on the Missing website, will see Weaver trying to answer the question: "Is it possible to disappear?"
He will combine personal research with expert interviews in the eight-part weekly series, which Weaver devised and produced with a team from the marketing agency Kindred.
Michael Joseph head of marketing Tim Broughton said: “For six novels now, Tim has been thrilling readers with his David Raker investigations about missing people. There is still much to learn about how and why people disappear, so we were delighted when Tim agreed to embark on this real-life investigation of his own. Recently, podcasts like Serial have captured listeners’ imaginations and we hope that Missing will appeal to a similar audience.”
New episodes will be released every Thursday morning.
