Sphere has acquired two psychological thrillers from Clare Mackintosh, author of the bestselling I Let You Go.
Lucy Malagoni, senior editor for Sphere Fiction, acquired the world rights from Sheila Crowley at Curtis Brown, to two titles.
Malagoni said: “Clare’s debut novel I Let You Go has been the most phenomenal success. With an array of stunning reviews, translation rights sold in twenty-six territories and 500,000 copies sold across all formats, it is the fastest-selling crime thriller title by a new writer this year, but this is just the beginning. Clare is an incredibly impactful writer, with the ability to create characters and craft plots that take your breath away. I couldn’t be more excited about her future at Sphere.”
Crowley said: “From the moment I met Clare, I knew she would be a complete star. Her writing talent is incredible and she also has a wonderful warmth and personality to promote her writing across any platform.”
Mackintosh said: “It is a huge honour to be published by Sphere, and I am beyond thrilled to be working with the great team at Little, Brown on another two books.”
