Sony to sponsor CrimeFest award

Sony is to sponsor the e-book category prize at next year&rsquo;s Crimefest.<br />&nbsp;<br />It is the inaugural year for the prize, will be awarded at the annual Bristol-based crime-writing festival, alongside the Last Laugh Award for best humorous crime novel, sponsored by Goldboro Books, and the audiobook Sounds of Crime Awards, sponsored by Audible.<br />&nbsp;<br />The prize comprises a Sony Reader Touch Edition and a cash prize, as yet undecided. A Sony Reader will also be awarded in a competition in the Times, the festival&rsquo;s media partner for 2010. The newspaper will review all of the award winners, with a competition to win all the shortlists plus a Reader.<br />&nbsp;<br />Crimefest is also opening a competition to recipients of its newsletter to renamed the e-book award, again with a Reader from Sony as the prize.&nbsp; The Crimefest prize-giving will take place at a Gala Dinner on May 22nd.<br />&nbsp;<br />CrimeFest has also extended the deadline for entries to all three of its prizes from this Friday (11th December) to 18th December.<br />&nbsp;<br />
