Solaris, an imprint of Rebellion Publishing, has acquired a sequel anthology to New Suns by Nisi Shawl.
World English rights were acquired by David Thomas Moore directly from Shawl.
New Suns was published in 2019 by Solaris and showcased emerging and seasoned writers of many ethnicities, telling stories filled with shocking delights and powerful visions of the familiar made strange, says the publisher. It won the Locus Award and World Fantasy Award.
The sequel, with the working title New Suns 2, will be released in spring 2023.
Thomas Moore commented: "New Suns was one of the most important projects Solaris has ever published, reflected in its extraordinary haul of awards. I’m delighted to have picked up the sequel, and to be working with the brilliant Nisi Shawl again."
Shawl said: "I'm so gleefully grateful for this chance to show people more new suns burning brighter in deeper skies! Our first volume won four awards in a year—can we rocket past that, further into the beyond?"
