Independent publisher Snowbooks has launched a free digital magazine to supplement its long-running website Snowblog. White Magazine will exist largely as a website, with a quarterly PDF magazine sent out to those who opt in to receive it.
The newsletter will include previews of books "many months ahead of publication", special discounts, prizes and other offers. Snowbooks authors will also contribute original material, and the publisher is inviting submissions "from anyone who thinks they have something interesting to contribute".
Emma Barnes, managing director, said White had been launched to offer "another level of information" to regular readers of Snowblog, which will continue to focus on company news.
"We’ve got one of the longest-running blogs in publishing but it’s more a vehicle for rambling on about life as an indie publisher than focused information and insight about our authors and books," she said. "Through our blog, though, we’ve realised that there are real people out there with names and faces who really like what we do, so White magazine is something special for them."
