The life stories of playwright Arthur Miller and actors Ellen Terry and Henry Irving are up for this year's Sheridan Morley Prize for Best Theatre Biography, according to the Stage, with two Weidenfeld titles in the running.
The prize, which celebrates "excellence and originality" in a theatre biography, autobiography or diary, is in its second year and is named in memory of critic and biographer Sheridan Morley.
The winner, who will receive £5,000, is announced on 5th May at the Garrick Club in London.
The shortlist: A Strange Eventful History by Michael Holroyd (Chatto), Bloomsbury Ballerina by Judith Mackrell (Weidenfeld), Apprenticeship by Peter Gill (Oberon Books), and Arthur Miller by Christopher Bigsby (Weidenfeld).
