Scholastic has bought world rights to a YA novel about the greek gods by Alexandra Sheppard.
The story of O.M.G.s (Oh My Gods) centres on Helen, who has a secret: her family are Greek gods in disguise. When she goes to live with her father—who is Zeus, masquerading as a university professor—she must do her best to keep the family secret intact... but chaos ensues.
London-based début author Sheppard is a social media manager who has worked on big-brand campaigns such as This Girl Can for Sport England. She has previously written for Time Out, Mslexia and Lit Hub, and was shortlisted for Megaphone, the UK-based mentoring and development scheme for children’s authors from a black, Asian or minority ethnic background.
Sophie Cashell, commissioning editor for fiction and picture books at Scholastic UK, struck a deal for world rights with Leticia Vila-Sanjuán of the Pontas Agency, and will publish the title in January 2019.
