David Shelley, deputy publisher of Little, Brown, has bought three new novels from Angus Donald, whose first novel Outlaw was published by Sphere in July 2009.
Shelley has bought World English Language rights, via Ian Drury at Sheil Land, to King's Man, plus two untitled novels, which will continue to explore the Robin Hood legend.
Outlaw topped the heatseekers chart and went on to sell 80,000 copies. Sphere will publish the sequel Holy Warrior in which Hood joins Richard the Lionheart on crusade in July this year.
Shelley said: "With Outlaw, we were really proud to launch the career of a major new talent in historical adventure. Not only was this a commercial success, but it was also a book loved by readers, as the fanmail and Amazon reviews testify. We are all really excited about working with Angus for a very long time to come, and helping him take his success to the next level."
International rights in Outlaw have been sold in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Russia and Spain.
