Pan Macmillan is to publish the memoir of Daphne Selfe, the world’s oldest supermodel.
Georgina Morley, non-fiction editorial director, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to The Way We Wore from Gordon Wise at Curtis Brown.
Selfe, who is in her 80s, has been photographed by Mario Testino, Nick Knight and David Bailey, and continues to appear in magazines and in ad campaigns for fashion brands. The Way We Wore is described as “a heart-warming account of lifelong love affair with clothes and fashion, taking readers from the organdie party frocks of a 1930s childhood to the pages of Vogue”.
Morley said: “Everyone at Pan Macmillan is absolutely thrilled to be publishing Daphne Selfe's memoir, The Way We Wore. Daphne is an inspiration to us all, proving that real beauty is ageless.”
The Way We Wore will be published by Macmillan on 16th July as a £16.99 hardback.
