Ebury Press has acquired a second cookbook from Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley, titled Good + Simple.
The deal for UK and Commonwealth rights was done by Lizzy Gray, editorial director at Ebury Press, and Cathryn Summerhayes from WME, with Doris Cooper at Clarkson Potter picking up North American rights.
Ebury published the Hemsley sisters’ first cookbook, The Art of Eating Well, in June 2014. It has sold 70,434 copies through Nielsen BookScan to date.
Gray said: “The Art of Eating Well has been at the forefront of the new approach to healthy eating and healthy cookery publishing. It has been a consistent top ten hardback nonfiction bestseller since publication and we are absolutely delighted to be publishing Jasmine and Melissa's second book, Good + Simple. This is an accessible and highly practical cookbook that will appeal to Hemsley+Hemsley fans, those new to healthy eating or anyone looking for nutritious meals. It is full of the Hemsleys’ inventive recipes plus plenty of advice on how to incorporate eating well into everyday life."
The Hemsley sisters said the new book is “for anyone and everyone who wants easy, affordable everyday eating that is both nutritious and delicious”. It contains over 120 new recipes that are free from grains, gluten and refined sugar, and promote sustainable healthy eating. Part one includes a guide to the principles of eating well, 10 recipes to get you started and basic store cupboard ingredients. Part two has recipes for breakfasts, lunches, salads, vegetarian and vegan mains, meat and fish dishes and desserts, baking, snacks and sweets. Part three includes tips for packed meals, advice on mindful eating, quick lunches for at home and work, easy suppers, tips on making the best use of leftovers, how to plan meals for the week ahead and a two-week body reset plan.
Ebury will publish Good + Simple on 3rd March 2016.
