The follow-up to YouTube star Alfie Deyes’ The Pointless Book is to be released a week earlier than scheduled to coincide with the Easter holidays.
Blink Publishing will release The Pointless Book 2 this Thursday (26th March) instead of next week to meet “unprecedented demand”, said the publisher.
Perminder Mann, m.d. of Blink Publishing, said: “With the majority of schools breaking up on 27th March, and shops doing reduced hours over the four day Easter Bank holiday, we have taken the decision to release the book a week early to satisfy PointlessBlog viewers. The book is printed, it looks fantastic, stock is available, retailers and readers want it, so to sit on it would be pointless.”
The Pointless Book 2 is described as being “full of hilarious challenges, games, pranks and crazy activities”. It is being released with a free, downloadable, interactive app.
Around 8,000 fans turned up to Deyes’ first signing for The Pointless Book at Waterstones Piccadilly last year, leading Blink to reschedule his remaining appearances. For The Pointless Book 2 there will be ticketed signings, with information to be announced on The Pointless Blog.
Deyes’ The Pointless Book, named for his YouTube channel where he has 3.9m followers, has so far sold 240,211 copies through Nielsen BookScan.
The Pointless Book 2 will be released as an £8.99 paperback.
