Hodder has acquired two new sports titles, including the autobiography of medal-winning athlete and chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, Sebastian Coe.
Sports editor Roddy Bloomfield, who has previously acquired memoirs by footballer Bobby Robson and cricketer Graeme Swann, bought world rights to Coe's autobiography through Caroline Michel at PFD.
The title, which will be published on 8th November, will cover Coe's career as a middle-distance runner, winning four Olympic medals including gold; his time as a Conservative MP; role as chief of staff to William Hague; and his recent work with the Olympics.
Bloomfield said: "It is naturally a great honour for Hodder that Seb Coe has finally accepted our proposal. At last, we can expect to be allowed inside the mind of one of the most successful British athletes of all time."
He also struck a deal with Michel to acquire world rights excluding US and Canada in the autobiography of golfer and winner of the Open Championship at Sandwich, Darren Clarke. The title will be published on 25th November.
