US singer Mariah Carey is set to create a Christmas children’s picture book based on her two children Roc (Moroccan) and Roe (Monroe).
Scholastic US will publish the book – entitled Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas – this winter. It will be co-produced by Carey’s television presenter husband Nick Cannon
The title will be aimed children aged three and above and illustrated by New York Times-bestselling artist AG Ford.
Scholastic said the book would “follow Roc and Roe as they put their own unique spin on the Christmas carol Twelve Days of Christmas.” One of Carey's biggest hits is "All I Want for Christmas is You".
Carey and Cannon said: “We are so excited to work with the Scholastic team on our Roc and Roe picture book and we can’t wait until this holiday season.”
Ken Geist, vice president and editorial director of Scholastic Press Picture Books, said: “It’s been such a fun and collaborative process and we are thrilled to be working with Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey on this exciting project. Roc and Roe’s Twelve Days of Christmas is the perfect book to read with your little ones—an adorable spin on a classic tale, sprinkled with humor and heart."
The deal was struck by D. Christopher Jennings and Robert Caruso of Impact Republic, Nick Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment and Scholastic’s Geist.
Scholastic in the UK said they had no plans to publish the book here.
