The launch of Scholastic’s latest Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler picture book is being marked by the creation of a giant maze based on the front cover.
The National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, is creating a 10-acre maze based on the cover of The Scarecrows’ Wedding, due for release on 17th July.
Participants will follow three miles of paths, bridges and viewing towers, and take part in a quiz trail to find items for the scarecrows’ perfect wedding day.
The farm is also creating a mini-maze for younger children based on the shape of a flower.
Rachel Partridge, group marketing and publicity director said: “We were determined to create the most imaginative campaign possible.” She added: “An enormous maize maze featuring Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay seems a perfect – and highly original – celebration.”
The maze will be unveiled on 9th July.
