Deputy publishing director Sarah Emsley has been promoted to publishing director for Headline Review Non-fiction.
Emsley has also been appointed to the Headline Board.
Emsley's list will cover popular culture, music, sport and life stories. She has published hardback bestsellers including television star Charlotte Crosby’s Me, Me, Me and vlogger Marcus Butler’s Hello Life!. She also published Telegraph journalist Bryony Gordon’s The Wrong Knickers and Mad Girl.
Mari Evans, m.d. for Headline Publishing Group, credited Emsley in bringing "immense energy and dynamism to everything she touches".
"I know she’ll bring that to bear in spades on her own list, inspiring her team to acquire with vigour and creativity," said Evans.
She added: "I’m excited to see Headline’s non-fiction publishing develop and grow with Sarah at the helm of one strand, focused around popular culture and narrative voices, and Lindsey Evans heading up Headline’s lifestyle publishing."
Emsley's team will be Richard Roper, commissioning editor; Jonathan Taylor, consultant sports publisher; and Grace Paul, assistant editor, who joins Headline from BBC Books.
