Samsung has today (25th March) released its first e-reader device—which was initially
revealed in January's CES conference—into the US market.
The device, which retails at $299 and has Wi-fi capability, allows users to write notes directly on the page, highlight content and share notes with friends, using a stylus pen. It also features journal, scheduler and memo applications and an electronic dictionary, and has a built-in MP3 player for music or audiobooks.
Barnes & Noble will act as Samsung's "e-commerce storefront", with more than 1m books, magazines and newspapers available in e-book format through the retailer, a company announcement said.
The device has a six-inch screen and 2GB of internal memory, meaning the e-reader can store 1,500 books or 24,000 pages of memos.
