Sales down at WHS Travel and high street

<p>W H Smith said it was &quot;well positioned&quot; for growth in the future, as the retailer announced its interim management statement. For the 10 weeks to 6th November, sales were down 2% compared to 2009.</p><p>WHS Travel like-for-like sales were down 1%, which the retailer said was in line with expectations. High street like-for-likes were down 4%.</p><p>The retailer said: &quot;We continue to focus on delivering our strategy to rebalance the mix of our business towards our core categories.&quot; It added: &quot;We remain a resilient business and are well positioned for<br />continued growth in the future.&quot;</p>
