Pan Macmillan has bought three novels by Tan Lines-author J J Salem in a six-figure deal.
Senior commissioning editor for fiction Jenny Geras acquired UK and Commonwealth rights in the three books from Madeleine Buston at Darley Anderson.
Geras said: "J J Salem is a real star on our women's fiction list, and these three new books demonstrate everything we have come to expect from him: brilliant high-concept plots, strong female characters, sex, pace, humour, and spot-on pop culture. I'm thrilled to be publishing them."
Salem said: "I've never been more driven to write the kind of high/glamour/gritty reality stories that get readers talking online and at the watercooler. Jackie Collins has been like a mentor to me, and I've taken her wise advice to heart!"
Pan Macmillan will publish Salem's first as yet untitled book in the new contract in 2012, with books two and three to follow in 2013. Madeleine Buston, together with Steve Fisher of the APA Talent Agency in LA, are handling film rights.
Tan Lines was published by Pan Macmillan in 2008, and Salem's second novel The Strip is set for July 2011 publication.
