Sainsbury’s has re-launched its e-book website, featuring a book club, a more user-friendly layout and allowing customers to pay using only their Nectar cards.
eBooks by Sainsbury’s now features a book club in which participants can share their thoughts on the book of the week, along with a new blog featuring author and illustrator interviews. The supermarket’s platform also has new book collections under headings such as ‘the books everyone is talking about’ and a bespoke chart featuring the eBooks by Sainsbury’s top-selling titles.
The new interface also includes a Nectar “one click instant buy option” where users can purchase books directly using their Nectar points as well as being able to collect points as they shop.
Sharon Nightingale, head of commercial for eBooks by Sainsbury’s, said: “The new website makes it easier for readers to share book recommendations and find their favourite authors. Every update is designed to make this process simpler, quicker and more enjoyable. Just like a favourite book, the new site is easy to pick up, immersive and fun.”
The company added: “With so many new features to pack in, regular users can be assured that the website will continue to feature the same great new releases, regular price drops on selected titles, and compatibility with all e-reading devices except Amazon’s Kindle.”
