Russell leaves Aitken Alexander for Found

Gillie Russell is leaving Aitken Alexander to join literary agency Found, where she will continue to represent her existing authors and expand the list.

Russell began her career at Methuen Children’s Books before moving on to become publishing director for children’s fiction at HarperCollins. At Aitken Alexander she specialised in children’s and YA authors with clients including Moira Young and Mark Lowery.

She said: “I’m really excited by the opportunities that Found offers my authors and the chance to work with new and emerging voices in an interesting and innovative way.”

Found was set up in 2014 by Alice Russell and Francesca Zampi. It represents a roster of clients, each with an expertise or social mission, including Anna Jones, Rachel Ama, Candice Brathwaite, Giles Coren, Melissa Hemsley, Madeleine Shaw, and Shona Vertue.

Zampi and Alice Russell said: “We are thrilled that Gillie Russell has joined the agency; she has a wonderful list of authors and a brilliant eye for new talent and great storytelling. We are excited to see what people and projects our combined areas of experience can unearth.”
