New academic house Rowman & Littlefield International has appointed its launch team, opened an office in Soho, and launched website rowmaninternational.com.
Sarah Campbell, previously at Bloomsbury, has joined as editorial director and will commission in philosophy; Martina O'Sullivan, with a background at Kogan Page, will be senior commissioning editor for cultural studies; Anna Reeve has moved from Palgrave Macmillan as senior commissioning editor for politics and international relations.
Chief executive Oliver Gadsby said: "Through our collaboration with the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group in the US, we have access to a superb XML workflow, and to production, marketing, sales and distribution arrangements which give us a flying start." He predicted "a busy flow of publishing from later this year".
Physical and digital distribution will be handled in the UK by NBN International: NBN general manager Ken Rhodes is a director of Rowman & Littlefield.
