Romantic Novel award shortlist revealed

<p>Orion leads the pack in the running for the Romantic Novel of the Year 2008, with two of its titles on the six-strong shortlist.</p><p>Announced today (14th January), the shortlist includes <em>One Last Summer</em> by Catrin Collier and <em>The Leaving of Liverpool</em> by Maureen Lee from Orion, as well as <em>Silk and Steel</em> by Catherine King (Sphere), <em>Silver Bay</em> by Jojo Moyes (Hodder), <em>Pillow Talk </em>by Freya North (HarperCollins) and <em>Young Wives&#39; Tales</em> by Adele Parks (Michael Joseph).</p><p>It was selected by a panel of Romantic Novelists&#39; Association members, who scored the books on criteria such as romantic content, readability, dialogue, characters, plot, style and setting.</p><p>The winner of the 2008 award will be decided by the judging panel, which includes comedienne Helen Lederer, <em>Good Housekeeping</em> magazine&#39;s books editor, Kerry Fowler, and Chris Rushby, buying director of Bertram Books, and announced on 4th February. </p>
