Orion leads the pack in the running for the Romantic Novel of the Year 2008, with two of its titles on the six-strong shortlist.
Announced today (14th January), the shortlist includes One Last Summer by Catrin Collier and The Leaving of Liverpool by Maureen Lee from Orion, as well as Silk and Steel by Catherine King (Sphere), Silver Bay by Jojo Moyes (Hodder), Pillow Talk by Freya North (HarperCollins) and Young Wives' Tales by Adele Parks (Michael Joseph).
It was selected by a panel of Romantic Novelists' Association members, who scored the books on criteria such as romantic content, readability, dialogue, characters, plot, style and setting.
The winner of the 2008 award will be decided by the judging panel, which includes comedienne Helen Lederer, Good Housekeeping magazine's books editor, Kerry Fowler, and Chris Rushby, buying director of Bertram Books, and announced on 4th February.
