Robinson has acquired Nichi Hodgson’s The Curious History of Dating: from Jane Austen to Tinder.
The book will be written by journalist, broadcaster and author Hodgson (pictured), 32, who is described by her agent Lisa Moylett as "an authoritive voice on sex and dating". The books will be a "fun and informative read about an industry that has grown exponentially,” she added.
Hodgson was one of the first British journalists to court-report via Twitter. She regularly contributes to the Guardian, Vice, the Erotic Review Magazine and the Telegraph on civil liberties and censorship issues, sex and the law, and gender politics. She writes for US women’s mag Bustle.com on US politics, social policy, and health, and is the Men’s Health Sexual Adventurer columnist. Her first book, Bound to You, was published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2012.
Duncan Proudfoot, publishing director for Robinson, bought world rights from Moylett at Coombs Moylett Maclean. It will publish in hardback on 19th January 2017, priced: £12.99.
Proudfoot said: "I’m delighted to be working on a book with Nichi and I’m excited by the nature of the project we’re working on. It should be both fascinating, and a beautiful book – a wonderful gift!"
