Rebellion Publishing deputy publisher Rob Power is to join David Fickling Books (DFB) as senior PR and marketing manager.
Power began his career as a journalist, working on Future Publishing brands such as SFX, Total Film and MusicRadar, before joining Rebellion. During his time at Rebellion, he worked with bestselling science fiction and fantasy authors, and led the team that rebooted iconic children’s football series Roy of the Rovers, said DFB.
He will take up his new role at Oxford-based children's publisher David Fickling Books in March, working alongside m.d. Tom Fickling, where he'll be looking after the entire DFB list as well as children's comic The Phoenix.
Power said: "I’m over the moon to be joining David Fickling Books. David has assembled an enormously talented team that is committed to world-class storytelling, and it's an exciting time for the company, with big plans in place for 2020 and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside amazing authors, incredible illustrators and, in The Phoenix, a best-in-class children’s comic—I can’t wait to get started."
David Fickling added: "What a coup for DFB, to have joining us a man of such energy, enthusiasm, range and expertise. This is perfect timing with what is coming down the line from the team at DFB and The Phoenix."
