The Romantic Novelists’ Association has added two new categories to its industry awards: Agent of the Year and Publisher of the Year.
Agent of the Year will be awarded to a literary agent who has mentored, nurtured and promoted their authors’ careers, and supported the romance genre in general and the RNA in particular. Publisher of the Year will be for a publisher who embraces the genre, mentors writers to produce their best work, and is "innovative, creative and visionary" in the marketing and promotion of romantic fiction.
The additions bring the number of award categories to five including Romantic Bookseller of the Year, for a bookseller who has been recognised by RNA members for promoting and championing romantic fiction in a "positive and proactive" way throughout the year, Media Star of the Year, for anyone in the media who has helped raise the profile of romance writing and/or the RNA in a positive way and Best Adaption of a Romantic Novel, for the best adaptation of a romantic novel, whether for stage, screen (TV or movie) or radio.
The RNA Industry Awards are decided by the membership, with every member eligible to nominate within each category.
The award winners will be announced on 16th November 2016 at the RNA’s Winter Party at the Royal Overseas League in St James’s, London.
