RHG reshuffles international sales department

The Random House Group (RHG) has made a series of appointments as part of a reshuffle of its international sales department, including the creation of a group sales and marketing director role for East Asia.

David Parrish, former Random House international sales and marketing director, David Parrish has been promoted into this position, reflecting what the publisher described as "a key area of strategic focus for the group".

Diana Jones will become international sales and marketing director for the group, having worked in the same role at Transworld and Random House Children's Books (RHCB) for 10 years. Jones will take on specific responsibility for Cornerstone and Ebury, as well as supporting the general management of the group international department.

Current international sales and marketing manager for Transworld and RHCB, Eleanor Wood, will be promoted to Jones' previous position when she returns from maternity leave.

Mike Abbott, currently European sales and marketing director, has exchanged his specific responsibility for Cornerstone to covering Vintage Publishing.

International sales director Simon Littlewood described the changes as "exciting" and said: "These moves offer a range of benefits: the international department becomes refocused to reflect the demands of a changing global marketplace; we harness the considerable experience of our existing managers to new, energising challenges in roles where that experience will be of great value; and we provide opportunities to talented people coming up through the ranks".
