RHCP competitions with Movellas.com

Random House Children's Publishing and online writing community Movellas.com have launched two new competitions to promote the paperback publication of Noble Conflict by Malorie Blackman.

To enter the writing competition, budding authors must read an extract from Nobile Conflict online and then write a 3,000-word account of the different sides of the dispute.

The Movellas team will pick a shortlist and then the editorial team at Random House will choose the final winner, who will receive the chance to do a Q&A with Blackman. Three runners up will get a signed copy of Noble Conflict.

In a few weeks' time RHCP and Movellas will also launch an illustration competition, asking entrants to illustrate an extract from the book. The winner will get the chance to do a Q&A with Rachel Lawson, designer of the Noble Conflict cover.

Noble Conflict, published in paperback earlier this month, is a teen dystopian drama about Kaspar, a member of an elite peacekeeping force, whose life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Rhea, a beautiful young rebel.

Last year, RHCP and Movellas teamed up to launch the Sony Young Movellist of the Year award. The winning book was The Name on Your Wrist by Helen Hiorns.
