RH slams Standard

<p>Random House has demanded compensation from the Evening Standard after the paper broke a signed embargo on Ian McEwan's novel Saturday.</p><p>Dan Franklin, publisher at RH's CCV division, said he wanted the Standard to meet the costs of bringing publication forward by a week. "We had to do a special release, which is expensive. I hold them liable for the losses."</p><p>The Standard was among newspapers to promise to hold coverage until the scheduled launch date of 31st January.
