RH signs 95-year-old debut author

Hutchinson and Arrow have signed up possibly the oldest author ever to make a debut with a mainstream publishing house. Harry Bernstein, 95, is the author of The Invisible Wall, a "powerful, moving and utterly unforgettable" memoir of growing up in Lancashire before the First World War.

Kate Elton bought world rights in the book through agent Jeffrey Simmons. The Invisible Wall will be a Hutchinson hardback in February 2007, with the Arrow paperback following in November.
