Understanding “perfect pricing” is key for HarperCollins’ future said its UK c.e.o. Charlie Redmayne.
Speaking at yesterday’s (9th October) Frankfurt Book Fair, Redmayne said: “I want to make HarperCollins the best company I can make it and understanding pricing and investing in the understanding of pricing through analytics is key.
"Self-publishing is a big part of the market and we need to make sure that we are adding value to authors not just through advances, but through marketing, pricing and analytics.”
He added: “It is important that we understand the elasticity of pricing. If you look at the time and resources that Amazon have put into understanding pricing, it is obvious that it is important.”
