The Reader’s Digest UK books division has escaped the job cuts announced by RD president Mary Berner. Eight per cent of the worldwide workforce, around 280 positions in all, is set to go as part of a global "recession plan", Berner said.
But a spokesperson for Reader’s Digest said: "There are no current plans for job cuts in the books division. Reader’s Digest UK is focused on making savings whilst retaining current staffing levels."
