Random House Group has appointed Gaurav Shrinagesh as managing director of Random House India. Shrinagesh succeeds Michael Moynahan, who is leaving to join HarperCollins at its new c.e.o. for Australia and New Zealand. Shrinagesh will be responsible for the strategic development of the business and will lead all publishing, operational, sales and marketing functions.
Shrinagesh has has held a number of senior positions across Bertelsmann, since joining Random House Group’s parent company Bertelsmann AG in 1999 via the Bertelsmann Entrepreneurs Programme. His most recent role was as Hong Kong-based managing director DSHK part of the Bertelsmann AG Direct Group.
Shrinagesh will report to Brian Davies, managing director, Overseas Companies, The Random House Group UK.

Random House India was established in 2005. 2008 started with Random House India announcing at the New Delhi World Book Fair, that it was launching its first full local publishing list.
