Random House Business Books is to publish Pre-suasion by Robert Cialidini, a follow-up to the author’s book Influence (HarperBusiness).
Publishing director Nigel Wilcockson acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein.
In Pre-suasion, Cialdini will build on his investigations for Influence “into the subtle world of influence to reveal that the best persuaders succeed not only because of what they say or how they say it, but because of what they do in the moment before they deliver their message”.
Wilcockson said: “In the field of social psychology, few names inspire as much respect as that of Robert Cialdini. Pre-suasion is revelatory and endlessly thought-provoking in its exploration not just of what we should say when seeking to persuade others, but when and how we should say it.’
Random House Business Books will publish in hardback, trade paperback and e-book editions in early 2016, with a mass-market paperback edition the following year.
Influence has sold 51,164 copies through Nielsen BookScan.
