Quercus' McGrath new Templar m.d.

Quercus executive director of sales and marketing Mike McGrath has been appointed as the new managing director of Bonnier’s Templar Publishing.

McGrath has worked at Quercus for five years and will begin his new position at the children’s book publishing imprint this summer, when current Templar m.d. Amanda Wood will step into the role of publisher, working alongside McGrath.

Richard Johnson, Bonnier Publishing c.e.o., said: “Mike was my first choice candidate and we are thrilled to have someone of his calibre join the group, on the back of all the other high profile appointments we have made."

So far no announcement has been made as to McGrath’s replacement at Quercus but the company said one would follow “in due course".

Mark Smith, c.e.o of Quercus, said: "During the past five years, Mike has been an important contributor to the success of Quercus and, whilst we are sorry to see him leave, we wish him every success for the future". McGrath added: "Being part of the Quercus team during a five year period of  rapid  growth  and  expansion  has  been one of the most exciting chapters in my career and I shall continue to follow  the   company's continued progress with great pride and interest".
