Indie publisher Quercus is considering a move from Plus to either Aim or the full list next year, reports the Financial Times, on the back of the success of the Stieg Larsson titles. Shares in Quercus have risen from a 12-month low of 20p, and were up another 5p at 125p on Monday (27th September) after it confirmed an earlier statement that first-half sales had trebled.
According to the FT, the publisher's broker, St Helens Capital Partners, raised its forecast for the full year for the third time in 2010, and is now expecting pre-tax profits of £7.3m on sales of £33m.
Elsewhere, the company said it expected e-book sales to account for up to http://www.totaltele.com/view.aspx?ID=458923" target="_blank" title="10%">http://www.totaltele.com/view.aspx?ID=458923">10% of revenue within 18 months as growth in the electronic sector outstrips paper sales. "I would be surprised if e-books weren't 7.5% to 10% in 18 months," Smith said.
"A lot depends on [e-reader] device makers; we need people with devices in their hands," he added.
