Pushkin to publish Bass for first time in UK

Pushkin Press is to publish American writer and activist Rick Bass for the first time in the UK.

Publisher and m.d. Adam Freudenheim and deputy publisher Laura Macaulay acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to For A Little While by Bass from Nancy Wiese at Little, Brown and Company. Pushkin plans to publish in spring 2017.

For A Little While is the "definitive collection" of 30 years of Rick Bass' stories.

The New York Times Book Review has said of the collection: "Bass is, hands down, a master of the short form, creating in a few pages a natural world of mythic proportions."

Bass’s fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, the Atlantic and The Paris Review. He is currently writer in residence at Montana State University.
