Jeff Kinney’s next installment in the Wimpy Kid series, Wrecking Ball (Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 14), will be published in the UK by Puffin (part of Penguin Random House Children’s) on 5th November.
In the new book the Heffley family receive an unexpected inheritance that will allow then to make improvements to their home. But when things take a turn for the worse will they be forced to move?
The release will be supported by a “major” marketing and publicity campaign and Kinney will visit the UK as part of a global author tour.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are published in 74 editions in 62 languages and more than 200 million copies of the books in the series have been sold globally, according to Puffin. In the UK Kinney's sales have reached £67.5m through Nielsen BookScan.
The latest title, Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, was published in April and tells the story from the perspective of Greg Heffley’s best friend, Rowley. It hit the top of the charts, beating David Walliams’ Fing to the top spot.
