Publishers use The View from Here to find writers

<p>Bloomsbury is the latest publisher to join others including Random House, Little, Brown and Canongate in an agreement with literary magazine<em> The View from Here</em> as a talent-spotting exercise.</p><p>Fourth Estate and Penguin have also agreed with TVFH for staff to read the magazine each month, along with indies Canongate, Faber, Legend Press, Tindal Street Press and Alma Books, plus US indies Milkweed Editions and Unbridled Books and Australian-based publishers Text and Allen &amp; Unwin.</p><p>The editor of the magazine, which features three or four pieces of fiction a month, Mike French said &quot;the trick is to bypass the slush pile for new writers&quot;.</p>
