Publishers participate in Black Friday deals

Publishers are taking advantage of Black Friday sales, offering discounts of up to 60% on their titles online.

Black Friday is a US tradition, marking the traditional start of Christmas shopping following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Angry Robot is offering a 50% discount on all of its e-book titles on its online store for the whole of Black Friday. Customers can enter the code "robotfriday" on the site to apply the discount, which will be valid across all of the publisher's titles and imprints.

Quercus is also offering dedicated Black Friday deals, listing ten books on its site with a 40% discount, including several frontlist titles such as Suggs' memoir That Close, down from £20 to £12, and Dorothy Koomson's The Flavours of Love, down from £16.99 to £10.19.

Other publishers and retailers have taken to social media to promote their deals, with #BlackFriday trending across Twitter.

Blackwell's used the hashtag to draw followers to their website's Christmas gift finder, while DK promoted a 60% flash sale at their Christmas store, giving twitter followers a code that would give them a 60% discount until the end of November.

Amazon has been offering discounts
