Prospect Books wins André Simon award

A book published by one-man band Prospect Books has won the prestigious André Simon Memorial Fund's Food Book of the Year Award.

Sud de France: The Food and Cooking of the Languedoc by Caroline Conran is a collection of recipes from South-western France.

Founded by the late Alan Davidson, Prospect Books is run by Tom Jaine and publishes 6-10 food titles a year.

Earlier this year, Prospect Books was named runner-up for the Society of Authors' Scott Moncrieff Prize for Translation from French for Giles MacDonogh's translation of Testicles: Balls in Cooking and Culture.
