Palgrave Macmillan has made two changes to its senior management as the company is “poised to enter a period of transformational growth”.
The academic publisher has appointed Dominic Knight (pictured), executive director, as chairman of Palgrave Macmillan and executive director of business programmes for the Macmillan group. Sam Burridge, currently executive director of Palgrave Macmillan, has been promoted to managing director of Palgrave Macmillan Scholarly with effect from tomorrow (1st November).
Knight, who became managing director of Palgrave Macmillan at its inception in 2000, said: “Palgrave Macmillan is poised to enter a period of transformational growth, and I am delighted to have the company in the hands of such an outstanding executive team as we look to the future. Sam’s extensive knowledge and experience of scholarly publishing combined with her passion for innovation is invaluable to the group.”
Burridge joined Macmillan in 1995 and has held several senior roles across sales, business development and executive publishing.
She said: “I am excited to be leading Palgrave Macmillan during a time of extraordinary change and opportunity within the publishing industry. We are committed to delivering the highest quality scholarly content and resources to progress HSS scholarship and support our academic community.”
