Promotions for Jones and Cook at S&S non-fiction

More promotions have been made at Simon & Schuster, with Mike Jones being promoted to publishing director, non-fiction, and Carly Cook becoming editorial director, non-fiction.

Jones, previously editorial director, has worked at S&S since 2008, working on titles such as Patrick Swayze's The Time of My Life and Arnold Schwarzenegger's Total Recall. Suzanne Baboneau, m.d. of the adult publishing division, said: "We look forward to him bringing that very experience and focus to one of the biggest publications in our history which, of course, is the new Hillary Clinton next year, and to attracting ever more exciting and profitable talent to the list so that it continues to grow in excellence."

Cook, previously deputy editorial director, has been with S&S for less than two years, working particularly on celebrity memoirs, including Sam Faiers' Living Life the Essex Way and Jessie J's Nice to Meet You. She has also worked on forthcoming books from June Brown, Amanda Holden and Vinnie Jones. Baboneau said the books were: "examples of Carly's love of more narrative non-fiction, an area that she is keenly developing alongside overseeing and breathing new life into our paperback non-fiction list."

The changes follow a number of moves in S&S senior management this week, which saw Boboneau taking on her new role as m.d. of the adult publishing division.
