Sue Armstrong of Conville & Walsh has been promoted to the position of senior agent.
Armstrong, who joined Conville & Walsh as an intern in 2005, has built up a roster of writers including Ali Shaw, whose debut The Girl with Glass Feet won the Desmond Elliot Prize in 2008 and was nominated for both the Costa and Guardian First Novel awards; Jim Powell, longlisted for the Desmond Elliot Prize in 2011; and M L Stedman, author of bestseller The Light Between Oceans, a Richard and Judy Summer Book Club pick now being published in 30 languages and optioned by Steven Spielberg.
Armstrong has also taken on representation of Australian writer Favel Parrett, Australia’s bestselling debut writer of 2012 with Beyond the Shallows, as well as selling four debut novels set for 2014 publication: Chop Chop by Simon Wroe (Viking), Sunset on 99th by Keir Alexander (Corsair), Riptide by Simon Sylvester (Quercus) and Crashing Heaven by Al Robertson (Gollancz).
