Profile Books has signed a book which explores the role of personality throughout the ages by Samuel Johnson Prize-winning historian Margaret MacMillan.
The as-yet-untitled book, which will be published in autumn 2015, was signed by Profile m.d. Andrew Franklin in a deal for UK and Commonwealth rights with House of Anansi.
Franklin said: "I’m really very pleased indeed. She’s an outstanding historian, one of the very best in the world, one of the best on the Profile list, and a wonderful writer to publish."
MacMillan's previous books include Peacemakers: The Paris Conference 1919 and its Attempt to End the War (John Murray), for which she was the first woman to win the Samuel Johnson Prize, and The War that Ended Peace: How Europe Abandoned Peace for the First World War (Profile).
She is the warden of St Anthony's College, Oxford, and a professor of international history.
